awaiting payment verification

I have just a single product priced well in my account that was immediately snapped up and marked awaiting payment verification.

It has now been 22 days and the product is both awaiting payment verification and in transit between warehouses (according to the inventory ledger report). I see other people are having this issue on a much more massive scale, this is just a very clean example of what might be happening.

It seems like anti-competitive or fraudulent behavior on someone's part. Competitors taking the best priced item out of the market? Amazon losing things? I have no idea at this point (and of course support just offers useless canned responses).

It sounds like two things are at play here, so I'll address both.

Regarding the pending order: in some cases, our payment and order detail verification processes can potentially extend order processing times for as long as 21 days. There have been instances of pending orders extending beyond that window, in which case it's best to open a case with seller support. Since it appears you've done this, please let me know the case ID so I can review this further.

For the FC transfer of the item, these are standard within the FBA space and may not have a connection to the pending order. Transfers may take up to 22 to 25 days to complete. In some cases, transfers may take longer and investigation may be required (for example, delays due to weather restrictions).

As I mentioned, let me know the case number and I'll look into this. Thank you, and have a great weekend!

I'm glad to here the order has been cancelled, how long ago was the order cancelled? It may take some time, but the item show be returned to your inventory. If the delay continues, please reply to me here and I will review again.

For anybody enjoying the show:

the product went back into inventory with no additional entries in the inventory ledger after I prodded here and via support

then it was very quickly picked up by another "payment pending" "business customer" type purchase which will sit for a while before falling off

I suspect this is fraud and I'm not really sure what to do about it. Likely the business customer account setup allows putting things into pending thus driving up the price of the product artificially.
