FBM. Is there a carrier that can deliver a package to Puerto Rico in 2 days?

I need your help. Is there a carrier that can deliver a package to Puerto Rico in 2 days? When we turned on SSA there was an order that was 2nd air to Puerto Rico. Meaning it had to ship out the 1st and get delivered by the 3rd to Puerto Rico from US. It could not be OTDR protection since it was considered an international order by the standard carriers we used USPS, FedEX, UPS. What carrier do people use to get it there so fast and if not how to get OTDR protection?

Hello @Seller_uoblVhmptfNee.

Thank you for reaching out to the Forums. I can see how this issue may cause confusion and concern.

Puerto Rico remains a territory of the United States, and as you mentioned. it is still considered an international shipment when someone there places an order from a US seller.

What I found in this document:Frequently asked questions about on-time delivery rate (OTDR) I opened this and then searched for international and found this: Important information for international sellers

This in part states:

The following apply for each product you offer, promote or sell on an Amazon store website:

  • Customer Expectations: You will provide customers with accurate information about the location from which you are shipping your product.
  • You have to provide an accurate shipping address in your seller profile and manage customer expectations by stating the actual shipping times from your location. You will be responsible for meeting the shipping expectations for all orders you receive.
  • Delivery to the Customer: You must use a reliable shipping method so customers receive their purchases on time, every time.
  • Do not expose customers to customs delays and additional duties and taxes on their purchases. You are responsible for complying with all import and export obligations and for payment of all applicable duties and customs fees. In short, customers must receive exactly what they order without any additional charges or fees and within the estimated delivery date posted with your offer on the Amazon store website.

This help document does talk about shipping from the US to Mexico, I am thinking this may also apply to Puerto Rico for process considerations.

I know this is not answering the question of what carrier to use. Have you reached out to your standard shippers? I would be interested in what they propose as a solution. Have you investigated any shippers local to Puerto Rico? or maybe USPS, FedEX, UPS ship there also?

This is what I found for Fed X-

  • Yes, FedEx can ship from the US to Puerto Rico, and offers a variety of services:
  • International Priority: Next business day delivery to all zip codes in Puerto Rico
  • International Priority Express: 1–3 business day delivery to most locations
  • International First: Next business day delivery to select locations

For UPS:

  • UPS offers several shipping options to Puerto Rico, including:
  • UPS Next Day Intra: Guaranteed delivery by the end of the next business day to all addresses in Puerto Rico
  • UPS Next Day Air: Guaranteed delivery by noon in the Hato Rey area and by the end of the business day to the rest of the island
  • UPS 1 Day: Delivery costs $40 for items under $100 and $45 for items $100 or more
  • UPS 2 Day: Delivery costs $30 for items under $100 and $40 for items $100 or more

For USPS:

  • The United States Postal Service (USPS) considers Puerto Rico to be a domestic destination, so shipping to Puerto Rico is similar to shipping to other US states. Here are some tips for shipping to Puerto Rico using USPS:
  • Cost: Shipping costs are the same as shipping to other US states. You can use regular domestic stamps for letters and postcards. For large envelopes, postage costs vary by weight and destination, starting at $3.15

I would, of course, suggest you research all of this and verify for your specific situation.

I hope this gives you a start on your investigation process.

I look forward to your response. Thank you for reaching out on the Forums.
