OTC Approvals for Name Brand Products

Hi, I sell care packages in my store that each contain multiple products. If a care package contains Aleve Tablets (OTC pain reliever), for example, Amazon is asking me for the following:

  • A General Certificate of Conformity (GCC)
  • Test reports from an ISO 17025 accredited lab that confirm that each product was tested to and meets the regulations of 16 CFR Part 1700 (Poison Prevention Packaging Act)

Because of the confidential nature of these reports, Aleve (and other brands like Advil & Tylenol) will not provide them to me.

I looked into getting the reports done myself and its is around $10,000 per product. Not an option for me.

So, I ungated myself for the exact Aleve product that I use in the care package (and the Aleve brand). Both of my selling applications were approved for Aleve and OTC Products.

But, I still cannot list my item. Amazon is still asking for the test reports I listed above.

I have tried everything, I have contacting support to no avail. The seller forums are my last hope!

Any help would be so appreciated!

I just want to get as many care packages to as many sick people as I can :)

Thanks,

Jen

Hi @atlas_amazon Thanks for your response, it is appreciated :)

You stated "It would seem that while our team has allowed the option for adding the product to your inventory. They do need to verify that the product is safe for the platform."

That is incorrect.

I am approved to sell the product, along with many other sellers. This alone verifies that the product is safe for the platform - because it is already ON the platform.

Also, as I stated in my original post, obtaining these documents from large brands like Advil or Aleve is not possible. They are confidential reports. They are approved by the FDA and meet all regulations, including the ones Amazon states.

I hope you can help me further.

Thanks,

Jennifer

I would suggest reading and studying Seller University before selling on Amazon.

Specifically the type of items you are trying to list. There should be information in there about OTC drugs .

Thank you for the information provided regarding the approval needed for listing the Aleve product. I understand our team is requesting testing documentation from you in regard to the safety of the product. When attempting to list these types of products, our team may initially request invoice documentation to verify your supplier for the product. This approval allows you to list the product, but if there are additional concerns surrounding the contents, our team may request additional documentation.

It would seem that while our team has allowed the option for adding the product to your inventory. They do need to verify that the product is safe for the platform. This will require providing the documents that they have requested. Additionally, be sure that your listing is accurate describing the product and ingredients being utilized.

If you have already done this, and you have the messaging to confirm that your safety documents are valid, then we would advise opening a case with these details. We encourage you to share the details of any case that you currently have open so we can review the situation further.

Please continue to refer to this thread with any additional questions, updates, or other messaging you may have received.

Best,

Atlas
