Cant get buybox over amazon even though there not delivering product until january 18th.

great start to the year. Can even get buybox at same price and delivering weeks before amazon

It sucks ... but the BB is weighted, with Amazon having the best score. For most products it's impossible to beat them and get in.

Not what you want to hear, but it's their river ....

I compete with Amazon.com on several listing, and I win the buy box most of the time so don't let others tell you it isn't possible.

You have to understand that Amazon might even be out of stock (with a planned restocking date) and will still win the featured offer. This varies from listing to listing. Some listings, they compete very aggressively and will change their price several times in a day to shake you. With others, you can win the buy box every single time without much trouble.

If you are competing via FBM, you will have to lower your price against Amazon's comparatively speaking, if you want a chance of winning the buy box, sometimes by 20%+. At some point, Amazon's repricer will hit its low price limit, if you can go just 1 penny lower than that price, you will win 100% of the time, given that you are in stock and can still make a decent profit.

We had one a while back Amazon took buy box with a out of stock working on getting more and after the finally removed themselves from the listing the item was then price fixed to an inaccurate list price forcing removal of buy box and not one item ever sold again and this was a listing we used to sell 50 units a month now we sell item on ebay and no sellers offer on Amazon! IT IS ALL DONE WITH INTENT BY AMAZON TO HARM YOUR BUSINESS!

I've experienced this in the past, as well. My price is lower than Amazon's, they are out of stock for the next two weeks, but they're still giving themselves the Buy Box.

This tells you two things:

1) it lets you know how much they really care about us 'selling partners', and

2) this whole shpiel about 'delighting the customer' is a farce. If that was true, then they would give the Buy Box to you instead of making the customer wait weeks to get their order, right?

Amazon doesn't care about 3rd party sellers, they don't care about their customers, they care about one thing and one thing only - creating the illusion of value for their stockholders.
