High Price Alerts, over 100 books/LP's taken down

And what is the most frustrating is that there are other sellers offering the exact same products for a higher price than the one taken down. Vintage LP's sell for more if in fine condition. No one has ever complained about my pricing. Never did I make anyone buy an over priced item.

Been selling on Amazon for over 10 years. At what point may I set the prices? Do I need to spend 10 to 20 minutes listing and re listing every single one off item??? I really want to use profanity here. The minimum going rate for a NM piece of vinyl is 20 bucks. You can't make money selling records for 9 dollars, either.

Scratched records are under 5 bucks all day long, I get it. That is not what I spend a lot of time sorting through. This labor is where the cost of the record is. I find records for people that don't have time to look, and don't have time for sub par quality.

Amazon. Stop it. Now. Let the records sit there unsold if the price is too high.

I feel your pain. We have this problem with books a lot, especially now that Amazon is condensing a lot of listings. Amazon pays no attention to the fact that special editions are worth more so they condense various types of editions and conditions under one ASIN then hit you with an inaccurate price alert. It is very frustrating. I don't use Amazon as my main venue anymore. If my listings go up, I'm happy, if they don't, I put them up elsewhere.

Not sure how it is with LPs, but with books in many cases they use the "List Price", which is the price that the book sold for New. The problem is that a book that has been Out Of Print since 1975 will still have a 50 year old out-of-date reference price; never mind that it's been selling for $25; never mind that it's $30 on the next cheapest site; the "List Price" is $4.75, so you can't sell it for more than $5.00.

It's absurd. A poor implementation of a bad idea. Hopefully the FTC lawsuit will take care of it, and folks like you and I can survive long enough to reap the benefits when it finally happens.

Or we are such a small portion of the over all revenue they do not care.

I think that is a large part of it. Every "improvement" Amazon makes seems to point to them not caring about media sellers; and in fact, seeming to encourage us to give up and leave.

Of course, the fact that I had a $300 sale last week on a different website gives me hope.

Do you have a minimum and maximum price set in your inventory? Min and Max are usually used for the re-pricer. If you raise your price over the max that you have set, Amazon will suspend the listing. If that is the case, simply raise your Max amount.

When it comes to media, Amazon doesn't care about what you have set for min and max. You could have a min of $100 and a max of $500, and Amazon would still tell you to sell a 50 year old book for no more than $7.95 (including shipping)
