Permission to open a new account until the old account gets closed

Hi,

I would like to delink my existing US and India accounts as I have been advised to close my Indian account and open a new one. The problem is that I am unable to delink the accounts as it cannot be delinked once the connection is made.

I have been advised by Seller Support to close both accounts and open new ones with a new entity name. The problem is that I need to wait 90 days from the last order date before I can close the existing US account.

1. If I open a new US account with a NEW legal entity, but sell the same products under the same brand name as per the old account. Will my accounts get deactivated?

2. How do I get permission from Amazon to open a new account while the 90-day period is ongoing? I will stop selling the products from the old one and dont mind deregistering my brand from the old account if required and deleting all the products.

Please advise.

Hello @Seller_TD9zNDACLcejb

This is Saeid from Amazon to help you with your concerns. I understand you want to remove the relationship between the Indian and US stores.

As SPS team informed you, this is not possible as you have been identified as the account owner for both accounts.

"I have been advised by Seller Support to close both accounts and open new ones with a new entity name. The problem is that I need to wait 90 days from the last order date before I can close the existing US account."

This information is correct, according to guidelines to close the account, you have to follow these steps:

1. Fulfill any outstanding orders.

2. Wait 90 days after your last sale to ensure the A-to-z Guarantee claims period is honored.

3. Wait until you have a zero balance in your account (your next disbursement or charge date).

4. Resolve all of your transactions with buyers, including issuing any necessary refunds.

5. Confirm that your bank account information on file is up-to-date to receive a final payment.

6. Check your Performance notifications to make sure that all the reasons for your account's suspension have been resolved and your account is restored.

Please refer to Close your seller account help page for additional information.

"If I open a new US account with a NEW legal entity, but sell the same products under the same brand name as per the old account. Will my accounts get deactivated?"

You may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. If any of your accounts are not in good standing, we may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all accounts are in good standing.

Examples of a legitimate business justification include:

• You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each

• You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies

• You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts

"How do I get permission from Amazon to open a new account while the 90-day period is ongoing? I will stop selling the products from the old one and dont mind deregistering my brand from the old account if required and deleting all the products."

Account cannot be closed within 90 days of your last sale. This guarantees that the A-to-z Guarantee claim period is honored. If you have any open A-to-z Guarantee claims, your account must remain open until they're settled. Your account balance must be zero before your account can be closed.

If you would also like to provide further insight into the specific issue you are having with your account, the Forums community and I will gladly assist to the best of our ability.

Regards,

Saeid
