2 Shipments Sent - First was Completely Lost. The Second was "Received" but Completely Incorrect.

I rarely post on the forums, but I'm not sure what to do or if I should just give up. I've been a seller for years and I've had plenty of issues along the way with items mysteriously vanishing from my shipments, incorrect counts, etc. I was always forced to shrug these off since seller support was rarely able or willing to help. My last 2 shipments to Amazon, however, have both been disasters. Here's how it's gone:

1st Shipment: I sent a small shipment of 10+ items which arrived at Amazon, sat in "receiving" for 6 weeks, then vanished. This was reimbursed at a fraction of what the items were worth. OK, cost of doing business, etc. Frustrating but I moved on.

2nd shipment: Small shipment of 10+ items. Arrived at Amazon, sat for 6+ weeks, and now shows as 9 of the same item received, which is listed as available in my inventory. I have no idea where they got 9 of that item, but I imagine that customers will get the wrong item if they order it. The other items have apparently vanished.

How are we supposed to use FBA at all if we have no idea if our inventory will actually get where it's supposed to go? Why would I keep sending inventory to Amazon if it's apparent that it is being lost/stolen with little or no recourse?
