Confused about parent-child relationship and variations

Hello everyone,

I am creating my very first listing. After days of struggle, I could finally create my listings. I have 1 product with 2 sizes and 4 colors at each size. While creating the listing, I didn't get to add size variations but only color variations. So, I ended up creating 2 parent listings because I have 2 sizes. Under each size, I have 4 variations. I can see the variations on the Manage Inventory page but when I click on each variation's title, I can only see that specific color of the product without any option to change colors on that page that is now visible to everyone but in a "Currently unavailable." stage because I still didn't add any stock. I cannot really understand if size options will appear on the page later or if I am doing something wrong already. Also, why do you think that I couldn't combine both variations, which are size and color, into one parent product? Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Believe me, the most efficient way to create a variation is uploading a template through "Catalog/Add Products via Upload". You just need to fill in some required and minimum information to finish the variation creation. Normally, size+color can be used as a variationtheme. You can see it in the downloaded template file.

Hi @Seller_O7zrNlG4Q1Oe1:

Tiff here from Amazon. Do you still need some information on creating variations for your product? It sounded like you might still be searching for some assistance.

I wanted to share some of the Seller Central and Seller University pages that I think would be most helpful for your current question and to continue building variation knowledge.

If these do not address the specific scenario you're experiencing, try opening a Seller Support case next so they can provide step-by-step instructions.

Let me know how else I might be able to assist you.
