Need Help with Shipping Carrier Adjustment

OK, short rant mode first. I have been shipping with USPS for 15 years and have never had an adjustment to a shipment. I use a third-party app for shipping, each shipment is weighed by scale. Last year, I started using Buy Shipping through the app.

I received a few dozen shipping carrier adjustments yesterday, going back to shipments that were made up to 3 months ago. Most of them were small adjustments, $0.25 - $1.00 claiming that the weight was off by an ounce or less (which it is not). These add up quickly and there seems to be nothing I can do about them. Because of this, and the issue detailed below, I will stop using Buy Shipping and revert to doing USPS direct.

I need a moderator (@Glenn_Amazon, @Joey_Amazon, @Danny_Amazon, @KJ_Amazon, or somebody) to look into a case for me.

I shipped a small product to the customer in a 9x7x1 bubble mailer envelope. The package weighed 2.56oz, which was confirmed by the carrier since they actually issued an adjustment on the outbound shipment. It was a rebate of $0.07, reducing the original shipping cost from $4.58 to $4.51.

Outbound shipping adjustment:

The shipping services purchased for the package did not match the carrier-reported charge for shipping the package:

The customer decided to return the item, opened of course. The return shipment received an adjustment of $148.88. They apparently measured the return package at 22.75 x 17.5 x 21.25, which is basically large enough for a small refrigerator. The dimensional weight applied was 53lb and the adjustment was $148.88. The customer returned the item in an envelope similar to what it was sent out in.

Is there any way a moderator can look into this and get this corrected?

Regarding the first issue of small adjustments on outbound shipments, from what I have been able to determine if you use Veeqo (owned by Amazon) instead of Amazon Buy Shipping directly, this doesn't happen, as least as far as I have been able to determine. I have shipped thousands of shipments through Veeqo and have regularly look to see if there are any adjustments as have so far not found any. I don't know why it seems to happen on Amazon directly but not on Veeqo. Do keep in mind that if you purchase your shipping labels somewhere other than Amazon or Veeqo that you do lose your INR protections, so if someone claims they didn't get their package or it's running really late, you have to refund the buyer and will automatically lose an A-Z claims for INR. So, you may want to try using Veeqo and see if that solves your issue.

Regarding the incorrect return label cost, I believe there is a way to dispute that with Amazon, but I'm not sure exactly how. Amazon pretty much always ignores problems and hopes you will just go away any time you contact them, so you may just have to keep re-opening the case until they help. Or, perhaps a moderator here can help. Good luck.

Yes, we have similar issue. In some USPS even corrected it to the same dimensions and weight. We have over $700 in adjustments charged to us in March 2025. Note the dimensions in the image below 22x18x3 inches qualifies for standard USPS Ground Advantage, no surcharges, no dimensional weight. We have thousands ship with those dimensions and only a few get these bogus adjustments. We raised this issue before and Amazon still hasn't created an easy way for us to dispute these adjustments.

We attempted to file through USPS APV Disputes (Verify Postage), but they only handle trackings starting wtih 94 and not ones that start with 93 like those through Amazon Buy Shipping. They referred us to the eVS group, which said we had to file through Amazon, but again, Amazon has no process for us to appeal these.

Amazon is also now removing the original dims and weight entered when buying the label, with the updated adjustment from USPS, so we can't even show what was originally entered and paid for on the order page. Although the attachment shows what we were originally charged with the original dims and weight.

So in short, this is what we call fraud.

USPS (and other carriers) are committing it and Amazon is a co-conspirator.

This has been going on for a year at this point and Amazon will not address it.

Here is a link to another thread just like yours, take a lot at the first comment on that thread.

Report this to your State Attorney General and keep detailed records of these charges, the class action is going to be massive, this is blatant theft.

Download your report of charges, Amazon will attempt to wipe these records.

And yet there are no details provided. We, as 3rd party sellers, using Amazon Buy Shipping to purchase this postage from Amazon preferred carriers, need Amazon to both collect and share any and all details regarding any carrier chargebacks. How can you assist?

That charge does not come from Amazon. It is a charge from the carriers that Amazon is referencing to you.

Note the dimensions in the image below 22x18x3 inches qualifies for standard USPS Ground Advantage, no surcharges, no dimensional weight. We have thousands ship with those dimensions and only a few get these bogus adjustments. We raised this issue before and Amazon still hasn't created an easy way for us to dispute these adjustments.

We attempted to file through USPS APV Disputes (Verify Postage), but they only handle trackings starting wtih 94 and not ones that start with 93 like those through Amazon Buy Shipping. They referred us to the eVS group, which said we had to file through Amazon, but again, Amazon has no process for us to appeal these.

Amazon is also now removing the original dims and weight entered when buying the label, with the updated adjustment from USPS, so we can't even show what was originally entered and paid for on the order page. Although the attachment shows what we were originally charged with the original dims and weight.

USPS (and other carriers) are committing it and Amazon is a co-conspirator.

This has been going on for a year at this point and Amazon will not address it.

Report this to your State Attorney General and keep detailed records of these charges, the class action is going to be massive, this is blatant theft.

Download your report of charges, Amazon will attempt to wipe these records.

That charge does not come from Amazon. It is a charge from the carriers that Amazon is referencing to you.
