Error 5461-confusing response from Support
I have been trying to add a product to my catalog for a few months (9 to be exact) now. At one point we gave up trying because we were getting an error saying our SKU matched a dog leash. I purchase our SKUs through GS1.
Earlier this month, my dedicated E-Comm employee tried to add the product again. Everything seemed to be going just fine but we got this error “Error 5461: Catalog Authorization application to approve your account to create ASINs for brand (my brand)”. It made a case with the error number and we sent the appropriate documentation.
This morning we received this message from support after 11 days of hearing nothing:
"Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
We understand you are having issues with adding a product. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience.
After further investigation we have found the following:
Please be informed that the error code as per screenshot is not related to Brand Name Lockdown. We regret for the inconvenience caused.
In the future, if you would like to request another review, you will need to provide the exact error code.
You can still list the ASIN you were trying to create, with the brand name Generic or a brand name already approved for use, in accordance with the Amazon Brand Name Policy: https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/G2N3GKE5SGSHWYRZ?referral=A3RIXY6LYHE5UD_A1SJ2ENTVVHSZR

We are confused because it says the error said we couldn’t make the new listing for my brand yet support says it has nothing to do with brand name lockdown and to provide the exact code.
