If we remove the battery from the product, do we not need to provide the GCC certificate?

We received an email to provide a GCC certificate because the product has a button battery.

We opened a case to ask if we take out the battery from the product, do we not need to provide the GCC certificate?

And we got a rejection below.

"We are rejecting your appeal because the product has characteristics of Product Containing Button/Coin Battery. "

Can anyone submit this case to a team and help us resolve the issue?

Case ID: 16541565441

Thanks.

If the product is manufactured with these batteries you will likely need to work with them on securing the proper documentation that your products no longer produced to contain these batteries as proof. Simply removing the battery does not make them compliant or exempt from these tests. If you do work with your manufacturer to change the product, you may also need to create a new ASIN as the product may now be fundamentally different than the current ASIN.

As stated, since these products do contain a button cell battery, they will at this time require the proper testing to verify they meet the appropriate standards and are safe for sale. If you need help in identifying a accredited lab for testing you can always take a look at our service provider network for suggestions. The use of these labs are not required in anyway and only offered as a suggestion.
