Amazon forcing high priced fast shipping
Lately my on time delivery has gone way down. I figured it was the holidays as I've never had a problem before. Also having a lot of shipments where I'm shipping on time but amazon says I have to buy faster speed shipping to get it there on time. WHY?? They are calculating it wrong apparently. I offer free economy shipping so they should be stating it correctly to the customer.
So I enabled the ssa thinking this will help them get it right. I got 3 orders today to ship by tomorrow. I decide to ship them today since I have the time. Amazon still says I have to buy faster more expensive shipping or they won't get there in time.
Why is this!!! Why are they telling people who get free economy shipping incorrect time frames and then expect me to pay more to get it there
Am I missing something? What is going on? I hope someone can tell me. I'm beyond frustrated.

Same issue. Something is wrong with Amazon shipping. It keeps saying that Ground Advantage will deliver late. It is saying that Ground Advantage will take over a week for delivery to neighboring states that typically take 3 days for delivery.

Same here as well. UPS is padding a day now that they have to deliver all smartpost and ground savers. A typical 2 day ship that has to be delivered in 3 days is saying it will take 4 days to get there UPS. Getting screwed sending Fedex express saver. I was thinking holidays as well, but we are past that now. Any input @KJ_AmazonTypical $7 label going for $15 now.

Same here. This has been happening for about a week now and I thought it was just for the holidays and would fix itself but hasn't. For inexpensive items we have been shipping with late risk and they have been getting there in 2-3 days when the system shows 8 days. We wont be covered in a claim but its not worth spending 6-8 dollars extra per item to cover us

Same here, and I'm really getting tired of it. Just like you, I thought this would come to an end after the holiday season, but no.
I have orders that are from customers nearby, I could literally drive there in an hour to deliver it by hand, but Amazon says USPS Ground Advantage and UPS Ground just won't do - must be 2nd Day Air or bust.
Truely getting sick of this.

Same here... @KJ_Amazon This is a MAJOR issue.

Same. Huge problem. I'm NOT going to charge a customer 12+ dollars (that was it would cover the extra amazon fees) for fast shipping. They order NON urgent things from me for 6 dollars. If I would charged them 12 for shipping, they would just buy the same product from a Chinese website. Then I don't make money, but Amazon either. How is that a win for either of us? Amazon is shooting us and itself in the foot. From a business viewpoint (and from a moral standpoint too), it's an absolute failure. Very sad. :-(

Today I noticed that only UPS and FedEx were displayed up front for one of my orders, but when i looked at the other options, USPS Ground Advantage was there, and was claims protected and OTDR protected...

Is this some shadow update they did? I checked our shipping templates and it appears fine.

We have our SSA set to USPS Ground. Nothing else. However Amazon keeps telling customers that their packages will arrive in 2-3 days when it will take 4-5 or even 6. It then requires me to ship FedEx or UPS next or 2nd day to get it there on time. A lot of our items are $12.95-$14.95 each and this includes shipping. So when we are told that we have to ship using a method that costs us $17, this make no sense.
We've opened multiple cases on this. The last one I opened on October 08, 2024 and I am still waiting on support. This case has 5 pages of replies which all for the most part state
"Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,
We understand that you have contacted us regarding the incorrect shipping time in your Shipping Setting Automation.
We have researched and confirmed that our internal team is still working on your query.
We have also requested them to expedite your resolution, additionally we have also escalated this internally for a faster resolution.
As soon as we receive an update on your query, we will immediately contact you on this same email thread."

Meanwhile we have over a hundred orders where Amazon has tried to force us into a higher priced shipping method. This is despite Amazon's own policy and promise to its sellers on their help pages
"Will enabling SSA unexpectedly increase my shipping costs?
No. Enabling SSA should not increase your costs unexpectedly and does not require you to use faster ship methods because it applies the carrier transit time based on the shipping service you specified and the rules you prioritized."
This can be found here near the bottom in the Shipping Settings Automation (SSA) FAQ

Amazon is horrible about following their own policies. All that I want from support is to tell me that while they are looking into the issue, not to worry if my OTDR gets below the standard set by Amazon as they will protect my account as long as I am shipping USPS ground and on time, which is me following the policy.
I have a question for everyone, If Amazon had to follow the same metrics that we do, what do you think their metrics would be? OTDR, ODR...? I would bet their OTDR would not be much over 50% and their ODR with returns and upset buyers due to poor packaging alone would tank them. Yet we have to somehow have a 99% ODR and a 90% OTDR. Unreal

Also the ETA. We use standard for free and it’s showing delivery on January 13th. That’s 9 days from today. I opened a case and as usually seller support was helpless.
