Amazon Business Account
Long story short, I’ve been seeing an Amazon Business tag on my dashboard for a while now. Been contemplating as there are a number of different answers online as to proceed or not proceed setting this up…
Been trying to get in touch with CS, but we all know how that goes and the “eternal connectivity issues as well as technical issues on Amazon’s side” so after a week of trying to get a call back to elaborate on my possible concerns, I turn to the mighty forums with a number of questions and possible experience sharing opportunities.
As far as Amazon Business goes:
- Is it worth doing?
- I read that I am able to create a Business Account aside from my Seller Account, would that be the best approach?
- What am I losing, roughly? Can’t imagine that B2B will go at B2C retail pricing, does Amazon create pricing in a similar fashion as the Outlet Deals go?
- I read that delivery timings are more flexible, how flexible are they (or am I supposed to set this up)?
- I understand this basically is determined by the niche, but how often do you get larger business orders?
- Can you share some experiences (good or bad) with operating your Amazon Business Account?

Have you studied this link?
Are you a professional account?
- yes, it gives the opportunity to give discounts to businesses, including quantity discounts. But residential addresses can have businesses account so keep it in mind. Depending of what/how you ship, shipping to a business can be cheaper than to a residence, so if you believe that the customers will be served by ground instead of home delivery, think again
- that sounds confusing. Think of it as an “upgrade” to your seller account. Mostly visible in the manage inventory tab.
- when a business enters amazon as a buyer they see offers that say “business price” so think of it as a free way to promote products to a segment of the buyers.
- you set your times. Business addresses usually are closed on the weekends. Shipping templates for everything else.
- in my case often, but define big and often. Depends on the product. If you sell industrial products, sure. If you sell domestic products, not so much.
- my main problem is that sometimes residential addresses get the business price and the shipping is a bit more expensive. But overall, is innocuous. I like offering the discounts per quantity

Thank you for for sharing your experience! For my business I exclusively make use of FBA at the moment, and I’m in the business of mattresses and bedding items, would this (I reckon FBA is the only factor that matters?) be subject to cheaper shipping?
