Experiencing Error 8541 Product_Type Conflict because Amazon Amended our Product_Type Value to a Wrong One
We originally created a complete variation in US marketplace, everything goes smoothly until months later we started to update variation in EU marketplace using same ASIN with US sites (as we want to share US reviews).
We used same inventory file which contains same PRODUCT_TYPE(PT) value with before, but we received 8541 error for product_type conflict again and again. It showed that Amazon amended part of our child products' product_type value to another one, so the conflict caused.
We contacted Amazon support team to locate this issue, their solution is to request Amazon team to help revert the wrong PT(product_Type) value to original correct one.
It sounds easy, but disaster starts since then.
Different person stepped in one case without reading context. As a result, we have to struggle to explain our situation to a new person again and again. Sometimes we see the hope when an internal team confirmed they would help, but after waiting 72 hours, we found the wrong product_type value still stays there.
So we have to reach out again, to a new person, to explain the same situation again, without knowing if this time things would be different.
We experienced this Product_Type conflict in US, Japan, UK, France, Germany Sites. Until now, we opened nearly 50 cases, called local amazon support more than 50 times, spent more than one month, but still could not get this problem solved.
Do you have experienced product_type conflict? Has Amazon internal team fixed them for you?
To use inventory file to update variation successfully, all child products should have SAME product_type and the product_type should be SAME with Amazon Catalogue. If Amazon SS refused to revert them for us, how could we use inventory file in the future?

US Case Update :
Our US Site case get Amazon Brand Registry Support engaged in, specifying they will submit product_type revise request for us via two batches. First batch for 4 ASINS, and second batch for the other ASINs.
UK Case Update:
- The first reason they given for refusing change Product_Type for us: "our classification specialists reviewed the ASINs and confirmed that the exiting product type of the ASINs are valid and correct." This is obviously ridiculous;
- We followed up again and again by providing proof. Finally they provided a new reason: "We cannot make the suggested category change to the ASIN as the detail page associated with this ASIN is controlled by the brand owner. " This reason seems a bit better, but what strange is, we are just the brand owner, but our requests never get through.
At current stage, we realized maybe Brand Registry Support is the right team to solve this issue for us.
Not sure, but hope so. We will update again.
