To Request or Not Request, That is the Question.
I have searched the forums and I’m still really not quite sure about requesting a review.
I see conflicting information that Amazon automatically requests reviews on all orders, but then I see it is possible to request one yourself. Isn’t that a double request? On the same thought, then wouldn’t sending an email review request through a 3rd party service be a double request?
I’m hoping I can get an answer that will clarify this.

The only "safe" way to request review is through the link supplied on the order detail page. That link requests both seller feedback and product review.
Go ahead and use it if you wish.
The theory that Amazon already sends a request is as fill of holes as a colander.

Hello @Seller_XEbuwD0RDP462,
Thanks for the post! As mentioned, Amazon does send e-mail reminders to buyers for orders, encouraging feedback even though leaving feedback is at the buyer's discretion and Amazon supports sellers requesting feedback via the order detail page. Feedback (more specifically improving your feedback rating) and about the Feedback Manager.
Kindest regards,

No, that's not it.
Amazon declares that they do this. And, probably they do -- some of the time.
I buy A WHOLE LOT on Amazon and have never ever received a request from Amazon for feedback or review. Now, some of what I buy is sold by Amazon, but a good deal is not.
I have never set my account up to block those notices.
My buying account was simply created by Amazon when I opened a selling account (2005). So apparently the default -- at least at that time -- was to set the account to block those messages.
I suspect many many thousands of buyers have those messages blocked without having deliberately done so themselves.
