Another seller is messaging me asking me to increase my price.

Another seller is trying to contact me by buying one item from me on three different accounts and sending several messages from each one. He's asking me to raise my price and after ignoring his first few messages is becoming more hostile. I only have one other seller competing with me on this item so I assume it is that seller. I'm not sure what to do to get this seller to leave me alone.

That would be Price Fixing and it is a Federal Crime.

Go to "get Support" and work through the questions to report a violation.

Hi @Seller_FYyvj6pi22yeFthanks for bringing your question to the Seller Forums. I can see why this situation is challenging for you, and @Seller_kIukTwdhvntApand @Seller_LImVvUWeyiCfQhave given you excellent advice.

Don't engage with this seller, and do report a violation. Here's now, from the Report a Violation help page:

"Sellers are responsible for complying with all laws, regulations, and Amazon policies when listing products. Amazon encourages sellers to report listing abuse or seller violations of Amazon's policies or applicable law.

All reports are thoroughly investigated by our team.

For privacy reasons, the results of our investigations can't be disclosed, but we'll take any disciplinary actions we find appropriate.

Policy violations are the result of a seller violating the activities listed on the Selling Policies and Code of Conduct page.

  1. Go to Report Abuse
  2. Select violation type
  3. Provide concerned Order ID or ASIN/ISBN, as applicable
  4. Make sure to include the following information in the Please describe your issue field, as applicable (and noted in the bulleted list below), and then click Submit.

The Please describe your issue field list:

  • The store or business name of the seller you are reporting
  • The ASIN or ISBN of the item's detail page and the product title
  • The marketplaces for which the violation has occurred
  • A concise explanation of the violation based on the policy
  • Supporting documentation (for example, order IDs, related messaging, or receipts)"

I hope this is helpful as you navigate this situation. If you run into any issues, please don't hesitate to reach out again and "@" me here for further assistance.

Thanks again,

- Danika

I understand, it is frustrating to see some newbie seller with low feedback rating (not saying that is you) that sells a book at $9 when the next seller has it at $75. It simply is an accelerator/catalyst of the race to the bottom. This applies to books anyway.

You need to find out if this guy is an authorized dealer making test buys. If the other seller can sell at a higher price you might be losing out on sales? If this buyer is a dealer he could get your item kicked off Amazon sales. Ask him if he is a dealer and see where it goes. Might be a way to make more money if not do not change your prices.

My thinking is only a dealer or supplier will buy from 3 platforms and leave messages. Plan B might see if this guy could make you a dealer and get items at a better price.
