Violation of Amazon Variation Policy and Review Manipulation
Dear Amazon Support Team,
I am writing to report a seller for violating Amazon’s variation policy and manipulating reviews in a way that negatively affects customer trust and violates Amazon Rules.
Details of the violation:
Parent ASIN: B0CSY8SQCS
Seller: HOOWA
They have improperly combined the following products into a single variation group, which is clearly against Amazon's Variation Relationship Policy:
ASIN B0DYHC5Y6Z – This is a standalone hooka bowl, a completely different product category from full hooka sets.
ASIN B0D6R6HDVF – This is a complete hooka set.
ASIN B094WDQSLQ – This is a duplicate of the same hooka set as B0D6R6HDVF, violating Amazon’s Duplicate Listings Policy.
Policy Violations:
Variation Abuse:
Amazon’s policy allows variation listings only when the products are true variations of the same product (e.g., size, color). A hooka bowl and a full hooka set are not valid variations of each other. This creates confusion and misleads customers.
Review Manipulation:
By combining unrelated products, they are sharing reviews across multiple ASINs to artificially inflate credibility and boost sales rankings. This is a clear violation of the Customer Product Review policies.
Duplicate Listings:
The products B0D6R6HDVF and B094WDQSLQ are effectively the same item (same design, same contents, same branding). Creating multiple listings for the same product is prohibited under the ASIN Creation Policy and contributes to unfair market saturation.
Why This Matters:
This tactic provides an unfair advantage by:
- Misleading customers with inflated review counts.
- Hiding low-performing SKUs under high-performing ones.
- Undermining honest sellers who follow Amazon's policies.
Requested Action:
- Investigate and split the variation group under ASIN B0CSY8SQCS.
- Remove duplicate listings and enforce ASIN merging policies.
- Evaluate the seller’s account for repeated abuse of Amazon’s variation system.
